iPad Wi-Fi Not Working: Repair in Bangalore

Wi-Fi problems on an iPad split neatly into two groups, and telling them apart early saves a lot of wasted effort. Either the iPad cannot connect at all, or it connects and will not hold on.

The clue people usually miss is whether the problem follows the iPad. If your phone and laptop are fine on the same network and only the iPad struggles, it is the iPad. If everything in the house is unreliable, no repair here will help you and we will tell you so rather than taking the job.

Call +91 98451 28045 for a free check. We collect from anywhere in Bangalore and drop it back, at no extra cost.

What you are seeing

The last few on this list point at hardware rather than settings.

  • Wi-Fi is greyed out and the switch will not turn on
  • It connects then drops after a few minutes, over and over
  • The signal is weak unless you sit next to the router
  • It finds no networks at all, though others in the room do
  • It connects but nothing loads
  • It works on some networks and not others
  • Wi-Fi got worse straight after a screen repair somewhere else
  • It only works when the iPad is held at a certain angle

Settings, antenna, or chip

Start with software, because it is free. Corrupted network settings, an interrupted update, an old profile left behind by a school or office, or simply too many stored networks can all cause dropouts. Resetting network settings clears a real share of these and costs nothing.

Next is the antenna, and this is the one people miss. The Wi-Fi antenna runs along the inside edge of the iPad, right where a screen gets levered out. A repair done carelessly elsewhere can pinch the cable or leave the connector half seated, and the Wi-Fi is noticeably worse afterwards. If yours got bad right after a screen replacement, that is very likely your answer.

Greyed out Wi-Fi that will not switch on at all usually means the wireless chip on the logic board has failed. That is a board level repair rather than a settings problem, and it is one of the more common iPad board faults we see.

Heat and liquid affect the wireless section too. A chip that works when cool and drops out as the iPad warms up is a classic sign of a failing joint on the board.

What is involved and how long it takes

Free things get eliminated before you are asked to pay for anything.

  1. Test against several networks. We check the iPad on our own networks before blaming anything. Sending you home to replace a working router would help nobody.
  2. Software elimination. Network settings, stored profiles, saved networks and the iPadOS version. If this fixes it, that is a very cheap visit.
  3. Signal measurement. Measuring actual received signal strength rather than counting the bars, and comparing it against what the model should manage.
  4. Antenna inspection. Opening up to check the antenna cable and its connector, particularly where the iPad has had a screen repair before.
  5. Board level repair. Where the wireless chip itself has failed, we repair the component under a microscope rather than writing the iPad off.

What is involved and how long it takes

A settings fix and a chip repair sit at opposite ends of this, so we work out which it is before quoting rather than after.

The diagnosis is free, and it quite often ends with us telling you it was software and charging you nothing for parts.

Job What it involves Time needed
Network diagnosis Tested against several networks, settings and profiles checked Free, about 30 minutes
Settings and profile fix Network settings reset, old profiles removed, reconnected Same day
Antenna reseat or replacement Screen off, antenna cable checked or replaced, screen resealed 1 to 2 days
Wireless chip board repair Failed chip repaired or replaced under a microscope 3 to 5 days
Liquid damage cleaning Where corrosion has reached the wireless section of the board 2 to 4 days

Parts and warranty

Twelve month warranty on hardware repairs and the parts fitted. Software and settings fixes are not warranted, because settings can be changed again after the iPad leaves us.

If a previous repair somewhere else caused the problem, we will show you what we found rather than quietly fixing it and saying nothing.

Why bring your iPad to us

Greyed out Wi-Fi gets called unfixable by a lot of shops, and it is a board level repair rather than a dead iPad. We do that work in house under a microscope.

Free diagnosis tested against real networks, genuine parts, free collection anywhere in Bangalore, and twelve months of written cover on hardware work.

Questions people ask

My Wi-Fi switch is greyed out and will not turn on. Is the iPad finished?

No. That usually means the wireless chip on the board has failed, and it is repairable at component level. Plenty of places will tell you the iPad is dead. It generally is not.

Is it my iPad or my router?

If your phone and laptop are fine on the same network and only the iPad struggles, it is the iPad. We also test it on our own networks before quoting, so nobody ends up replacing a router that works.

My Wi-Fi got worse right after a screen repair. Related?

Almost certainly. The antenna runs along the edge where the screen is levered out, and it is easy to pinch the cable or leave the connector half seated. We see this regularly and it is usually straightforward to correct.

It connects but nothing loads. Same problem?

Not usually. That is more often a network or settings issue than a hardware one, and it is free to check. We would rather find that than sell you a repair.

It drops out once the iPad warms up. What does that mean?

That pattern points at a failing joint on the board rather than an antenna or a setting. It is a board level repair and it is the kind of thing that only shows up with proper testing.

Will I lose my data?

No. None of this work touches storage. A network settings reset clears saved Wi-Fi passwords, and we will tell you before doing it so you have them ready.

Book it in

If you have already reset the network settings and it is still no better, the next step is a hardware check. Ours is free, and greyed out Wi-Fi is repairable far more often than people are told.
