Apple Watch Battery Replacement in Bangalore

An Apple Watch battery is tiny, and it gets charged every single night. That is a lot of cycles in a short number of years, which is why watch batteries wear out noticeably sooner than the ones in a phone or an iPad.

There are two versions of this. Either the watch simply does not last the day any more, which is an inconvenience. Or the battery has swollen and started pushing the screen off the case, which is worth acting on quickly. If your screen has lifted evenly around the edge, stop charging it and bring it in.

Call +91 98451 28045 for a free check. We collect from anywhere in Bangalore and drop it back, at no extra cost.

Signs the battery is finished

The first few are ordinary wear. The last two mean bring it in now rather than next month.

  • It does not make it through a full day any more
  • The percentage drops in jumps rather than steadily
  • It shuts down suddenly while still showing charge left
  • It goes flat overnight without being worn
  • It gets warm on the wrist doing very little
  • Charging takes far longer than it used to
  • The screen has started lifting evenly all the way round
  • The back or the screen has a visible bulge

Why watch batteries wear out fast

It is the charging pattern rather than the battery quality. Most people put the watch on the charger every night, which means it goes through a full cycle almost daily. Three or four years of that is a great many cycles for a cell that size, and capacity falls away noticeably after it.

Heat plays a part too. A watch worn during exercise, sitting in the sun, or charging in a warm room ages faster than one that is not. Small cells are less forgiving of heat than large ones.

Swelling is what happens when a cell fails internally and produces gas. On an Apple Watch there is nowhere for that pressure to go except upwards, so it lifts the screen off. It is the most common way a watch battery announces itself, and continuing to charge it is the one thing genuinely worth avoiding.

Always On displays and heavy workout tracking use more power, so a watch that suddenly seems worse may simply be doing more. We check the actual cycle count rather than assuming, because sometimes the answer is a setting rather than a new battery.

What is involved and how long it takes

The battery sits under the display, so this job includes all the same care and resealing as a screen replacement.

  1. Free battery health check. We read the real cycle count and capacity rather than guessing from how it feels. Occasionally the battery is fine and a setting or an app is the drain.
  2. Open the display. The screen has to come off to reach the battery, softened evenly with controlled heat so the flex cables underneath are not strained.
  3. Remove the old cell carefully. Watch batteries are glued down and very thin. This is done slowly, because a punctured cell in a case that small is a genuine problem.
  4. Fit and calibrate. New cell fitted, then charged and discharged fully so the watch reports its capacity correctly from the first day.
  5. Reseal and cure. Fresh adhesive all the way round with proper clamping time, restoring as much of the water seal as an independent repair can.

What is involved and how long it takes

Price depends on the model and case size. We quote after the free health check, because a worn battery and a swollen one that has already damaged the screen are different jobs.

A swollen battery costs the same to replace as a worn one. It just needs handling more carefully, and sometimes the screen has already been damaged, which we will point out before starting.

Job What it involves Time needed
Battery health check Real cycle count and capacity read, no parts fitted Free, about 20 minutes
Battery replacement Screen off, old cell removed, new cell fitted and calibrated 1 to 2 days
Swollen battery replacement Same job handled with extra care, screen checked for damage 1 to 2 days
Battery plus screen Where swelling has already cracked or damaged the display 2 to 3 days
Charging check Where the fault turns out to be the charger or the back sensor Same day

Parts and warranty

Twelve month warranty on the battery and the work, and the display seal is covered too since the screen has to come off to fit it.

We fit genuine cells. A cheap battery in something worn on your wrist all day is not a saving worth making, and it is not something we will fit even if asked.

Why bring your Apple Watch to us

We check whether it is genuinely the battery before selling you one. A worn cell, a failing charger and an Always On setting all feel the same to the wearer, and only one of them needs a new battery.

Free health check, genuine parts, proper resealing, free collection anywhere in Bangalore and twelve months of written cover.

Questions people ask

My screen is lifting off. Is that the battery?

Almost certainly, if it has lifted evenly all the way round. That is a swollen cell pushing from underneath. Stop charging it and bring it in, because charging a swollen battery is the one thing genuinely worth avoiding.

How long should an Apple Watch battery last?

Three to four years of nightly charging before you notice a real drop. If yours has fallen off badly in eighteen months, something else is going on and the health check will show what.

It suddenly got worse after an update. Is that the battery?

Not always. New features and background activity after an update can increase drain for a few days while things reindex. We check the cycle count first rather than assuming.

Can the battery be changed without removing the screen?

No. On every Apple Watch model the battery sits under the display, so the screen comes off and gets resealed as part of the job. That is why it costs more than the size of the part suggests.

Will I lose my data or have to re-pair it?

No. A battery replacement does not touch storage and the watch stays paired with your iPhone throughout.

Is it worth it on an older watch?

Usually yes. A fresh battery gives an older Apple Watch years more use for a fraction of replacing it. On a very old model we will tell you honestly if we think otherwise.
